Additive cuts consumption

02 August 2004: The chemical giant BASF has concluded a deal with the developers of an additive that is claimed to reduce diesel consumption by as much as 10 per cent.

The deal between BASF and Cerulean International will allow further development of its Envirox fuel borne catalyst.

Envirox uses nano-scale particles of cerium oxide to catalyse diesel combustion.
