A4 here in November

02/10/04: by Trish Whelan — Audi have set November next as the launch date in Ireland for their new A4 range.

Front, rear, sides and shoulder lines have been complete restyled, incorporating the new Audi single-frame grille, clear glass headlights, and a new rear end with two-piece tail light units.

There's also new dashboard design and new upholstery options. There's a slightly longer body and increased luggage space with 460 litres capacity. On Avant models, load area is expandable up to 1,184 litres.

The new car will have power options from nine engines, including two newly designed petrol engines with FSI petrol injection - a 3.2-litre V6 and a turbocharged 2.0-litre unit; three petrol units of 1.6-litre, 2.0-litre and 1.8T capacity and four TDI units from 1.9-litre to 3.0-litre V6.

First to arrive here will be the 2.0-litre TDI and 2.0-litre petrol units followed by the 1.6-litre, 1.8T and 1.9-litre TDI versions. Prices have yet to be finalised.

Current sales of the current model are set to top 2,000 by year end.
