New security post range from Autolok
23 July 2001: Car security specialist Autlok has launched a new range of domestic and commercial security posts to help owners cut down on the risk of thefts of their vehicles.
According to the British Crime Survey, 63% of vehicles are stolen from the near the home and nearly one in three from private or semi-private parking areas such as drives.
The new range of eight heavy duty security posts includes telescopic, folding and removable posts as well as an anti-ram raid post and a motorcycle ground anchor (below).
"While many people already use a car steering wheel lock, more and more people are recognising that the more layers of security they use, the less likely their car is to be stolen," says Autolok sales director, Gary Richardson. "Security posts offer an additional barrier to the car thief, and not only help protect cars, but also caravans, trailers, boats, motorbikes and car parking spaces."
Made from heavy duty toughened steel, the Autolok security posts cost between £49.99 and £149.99 (sterling) and are supplied with a high security, 4 pin cylinder padlock with double bolted shackle and fully enclosed hasp.
Options are available to suit all circumstances and to provide different levels of security. They either bolt into the ground, have a spigot base which can be concreted into the ground, or are fully submergible into their own steel sleeve to sit flush when not required.
Costing £64.99, the extra-heavy duty Autolok Motorcycle Anchor extends to 165mm to reveal bolt hole for attaching motorcycles, bikes etc and kick plate.
The new range of security posts is part of a growing range of mechanical security products available from Autolok including wheel clamps, caravan hitch lock, garage security locks, car security and the Autolok 2000 steering wheel shield, the world&Mac226;s most approved auto lock.
