Toyota Avensis 'Best Family Car 2004'

19 February 2004: The new Toyota Avensis has been awarded WhatCar? magazine’s Best Family Car of the Year 2004 award.

The new Toyota Avensis received the top award within its category because ‘the appeal of the Avensis lies in its great build quality, top drive, performance and superb safety’ (WhatCar? March 2004).

Its five-star Euro NCAP crash-testing rate provides the consumer with excellent safety measures.

The Toyota Avensis was also awarded Semperit Irish Car of the Year 2004.

It was introduced to the Irish market last March and in January 2004 Toyota Ireland sold 1,554 units with a market share of 27%. The Toyota Avensis range comprises of a four-door Saloon, a five-door Liftback and a Tourer, all available with a wide choice of engines and trim levels, ranging from the Avensis 1.6- Aura Saloon priced at €24,645 to the Avensis D4D Aura Tourer at €30,900.

Toyota Ireland was the 6th best selling distributor in Europe for January 2004.
