Irish driving DVD

12/11/04: by Brian Byrne — A new DVD aimed at helping learner drivers to pass their test and improve Irish driving standards has been launched for the Christmas market.

“Bridgestone Driving for Life” which was filmed on location in Dublin and the North East of the country, demonstrates better driving techniques in current Irish road and traffic conditions.

The DVD was jointly produced by motoring journalist and television producer Michael Sheridan and former garda driving instructor Tony Toner, who has over 21 years experience in the area. It is sponsored by Bridgestone Tyres and distributed by EMI.

At the launch the producers called for the inclusion of driver training and road safety on the secondary school curriculum, the introduction of licensing for driving schools and the provision of dedicated areas, off the public roads, for driver training.

The DVD includes six modules covering everything from the provisional licence application through the initial learning steps to the driving test, finishing up with motorway and advanced driving tips.

It is available from all good music stores and Tesco nationwide. The recommended retail price is 24.99.
