High-power Mondeo diesel
10/11/04: by Brian Byrne — A new 2.2-litre TDCi Mondeo will join the lineup of Ford Ireland's 'D' segment car in the new year. With a power output of 155hp, it will satisfy the demand for diesel owners in the segment for 'more poke', says the Irish company's MD, Eddie Murphy. Meanwhile, in relation to the 1.6-litre diesel engine in the new Focus, he said it will be limited in availability. But he expects that it will be responsible for 10 per cent of Focus sales initially. "And the diesel segment is growing," he added. A 90hp 1.6-litre diesel will be added to the Focus range next year. |
