9 August 2002: A new 100PS version of Ford's 1.8-litre TDCi turbodiesel engine is on its way for the Focus range, in addition to the 115PS original version (above).

The new engine can accelerate the three-door Zetec Focus to 62mph in 11.5 seconds and the combined fuel consumption figure is 54.8mpg.

The engine debuts in the UK in October.
