Tucson goes on sale
10/11/04: by Trish Whelan — Hyundai Ireland has launched its new Tucson SUV in Ireland in a price range beginning at €27,750. The new vehicle, which slots below the Santa Fe, comes with a choice of 2WD petrol and diesel models, and a 4WD diesel. Both petrol and diesel engines are 2-litre. The 4WD version has a 'torque on demand' system that automatically switches from 2WD to 4WD when driving conditions require it. A dashboard switch also enables the driver to lock up the transmission into 50/50 front-rear split. The Tucson will compete against the Toyota RAV4, Honda's H-RV, the Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Mitsubishi Outlander. In tandem with the launch, the Santa Fe for 2005 has been upgraded, with some detail style changes and the inclusion of leather upholstery as standard. The 2WD petrol Tucson is €27,750, the 2WD diesel €30,250 and the 4WD diesel €32,250. |
