21 October 2002: Hyundai says it will gradually extend its 5-year warranty to other markets in Europe, because it will be required under new block exemption rules.

The warranty was introduced in Britain earlier this year, but at the time Hyundai Ireland sources said there were no plans to provide it here.

In Britain, the warranty is believed to have helped in achieving increased Hyundai sales by 3 per cent.

The Korean carmaker offers a 10-year warranty in the US.
