10 August 2004: Motorists on the look out for best value in low cost ferry travel to Britain and France this Summer will be interested in figures released by Irish Ferries which show that one third of all ferry bookings are made in the week of travel.
The company has a number of last minute deals on offer aimed at attracting this influential market segment.
Typical are cuts in standard motorist brochure fares to France where savings of up to 210 return can be made on selected summer sailings. In addition, valid travel dates on low-cost 5-day and 9-day return fares and over-55s discount periods have been brought forward into August.
Motorists travelling to Britain are being offered a new stay-as-long-as-you-like fare of 258 return for a car and two adults plus Children Go Free, all of which equates to a 40 percent reduction on brochure prices.
Other offers open to motorists booking travel to the UK include a 50 percent reduction for caravans and the bonus of free travel for a car on a Mini Cruise to France between September next and May 2005.
