XJ Top Gear Top Car

07 November 2003: The Jaguar XJ has been announced as the top car in the BBC Top Gear Motoring Survey 2003.

Britain's most popular cars were rated for reliability, driving enjoyment and dealer service by Top Gear viewers and readers.

The survey, carried out by a leading data management and analysis company, asked respondents to rank 137 cars from 35 manufacturers for mechanical, build, electrical and chassis quality, and dealer satisfaction and costs.

More than 43,000 drivers took part, completing a detailed questionnaire.
