Jaguar Estate here soon

12 February 2004: The new Jaguar X-Type Estate will be on sale in Ireland before the end of the month, at a starting price expected to be in the region of €42,000.

That represents a €3,000 premium over the saloon version. The new estate will be available with the same range of specifications and engines as the saloons, including the 2-litre diesel which has been highly commended since it was introduced last year.

Features of the X-Type Estate include a completely revised body from the B-pillar back, with a higher roofline contributing to more headroom for the rear passengers.

There have been quite a few expressions of interest in the new estate, according to importers Jaguar Ireland, though the estate market in this country is quite small. The X-Type Estate is aimed at the BMW 3-Series Tourer and the Audi A4 Avant, as well as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class estate.
