04 February 2004: Jordan has got its 2004 season up and running with the track debut of the new EJ14. Nick Heidfeld, who completed 37 laps at a sodden Silverstone, said it was good to be with the team.
"I feel at home already and the first test of a new car is always something special. The car looks good and Ive done quite a few laps with no technical problems.
Eddie Jordan himself is as usual in a positive mood about the prospects of his latest challenger. Weve seen the biggest improvement in aerodynamics that we have ever seen from one years car to another. Time will tell whether that means we will catch up with the guys who were ahead of us last year.
However, with so many other teams making great progress, (including long-time rivals BAR who blitzed the Barcelona track record with Jenson Button at the wheel of their latest machine, the 006) Jordans late debut for this car, coupled with a lack of testing does not bode well for the upcoming season.
