Keohane may go F3000

27 June 2003: Top Irish International racing driver Michael Keohane may contest a round of this year's FIA International F3000 Championship following a successful test at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium on Wednesday with leading Formula 3000 outfit Team Astromega.

Completing 13 flying laps of the 6.9Km circuit with the Belgian team, the 23-year-old Irishman was impressed with the car adapting quickly to the extra power and very different handling characteristics it has compared to the F3 machine he is more used to driving.

A double race winner in British F3, if  Keohane decides to race in F3000 this season it will most likely be at the British round of the championship which takes place at Silverstone - a track he is very familiar with.
