Kia upgrades Sedona MPV

6 August 2001: Kia is set to launch its 2002 model year Sedona before the end of October.

A revised line-up of three models will include a new 143bhp common-rail direct injection diesel engine, making it the most powerful diesel MPV on the market. Removable seats will also be fitted for the first time.

Kia is only recently revived as a marque available in Ireland, but in the UK in the first half of this year it was the Number 3 best-selling full-size MPV ahead of the Chrysler Voyager, VW Sharan and SEAT Alhambra.

Equipment enhancements to the Sedona include fully removable middle and rear row seats, offering even greater flexibility. The rear row bench seat is now 50:50 split/folding for ease of use. Other additions include aircraft-style seat back tables and rain-sensing windscreen wipers.

Visual changes to the new Sedona include revised front grille, front bumper and front headlamp clusters, wider rear windscreen and revised rear bumper treatment. In the UK, every new Sedona retail purchaser is eligible to receive a bicycle. TW
