New Sportage breaks sales record

20 August 2004: Kia Motors’ new compact SUV, the Sportage, has broken sales records with its first day of sales in Korea.

With 6,727 units sold on the very first day in dealer showrooms, this figure equals 32.4% of all domestic SUV sales in the previous month of July.. This compares to the Hyundai Tuscon selling 4,166 unitson its first day of sales.

Kia Motors Corporation (www.kiamotors.com) is Korea’s oldest manufacturer of automobiles, with 15 manufacturing and assembly operations in 12 countries that make more than a million vehicles a year.
