New Kia SUV upcoming

26 February 2002: Kia will unveil a new premium SUV called Sorento at the Geneva Motor Show. The car will extend Kia’s line-up to eight models.

Sorento shares similar dimensions to cars such as the Lexus RX300 and BMW X5 and is Kia’s first all-new 4x4 since the 2.0-litre Sportage was launched in 1995. Kia Sorento will be offered with a 2.5-litre Common Rail Turbodiesel and a choice of a 4 cylinder 2.4-litre or 3.5-litre V6 petrol engines.

Kia Sorento will go on sale in Europe before the end of this year.
