27 April 2004: One of Irelands top venues will host the first Limerick Motor Show in May. It takes place at the University of Limerick Arena from May 7-9 and some 30,000 visitors are expected to attend.
Approximately 20 different marques are exhibiting at the Motor Show. These will include Toyota and their new Corolla Verso, Opel with the new Astra and the introduction of Lexus to Limerick.
Hyundai, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Skoda, Saab, Suzuki and Chrysler Jeep will be there too. Kia will launch two new cars at the Motor Show and among others, Iveco will there to announce their arrival in Limerick.
An estimated 100 new vehicles will be on display and there will be a number of national new car launches.
The 2FM Roadcaster will be broadcasting live from the Show and extensive radio coverage will also include Limerick Live 95FM, Clare FM, Midlands Radio 3, Tipp FM and Radio Kerry as well as all local papers.
Personalities from the world of television and sport will attend, include RTEs Duncan Stewart of About the House fame who will perform the official opening on Friday afternoon.
World number one rugby second-row Paul OConnel will also be attending, and, subject to confirmation closer to the event, former Ireland soccer star Paul McGrath other famous guests will also be in attendance.
