Linders moves to Chapelizod

Pictured at the official move of Linders of Smithfield to new premises in Chapelizod are Patrick Linders, Dr Tim Mahony, chairman, Toyota Ireland, Joe and Paul Linders, and Micheal O Muircheartaigh.

03 April 2003: Toyota’s oldest dealership, Linders of Smithfield, is moving up the River Liffey to new upmarket premises in Chapelizod.

Sonny Linders started in Smithfield over 65 years ago. In 1973, Linders of Smithfield became the first Toyota dealer in Ireland. Early sales of those Toyotas centred on radios as standard - at a time when others sold heaters as extras.

The new premises are one of the best equipped in Ireland and include showrooms with the capacity to house up to 80 cars and a state-of-the-art accident repair facility. Customers will be able to relax in the new customer lounge, enjoy a cup of coffee while watch TV or surfing the Internet! Children (even adult kids) will be able to enjoy test-driving some performance vehicles on the playstation while younger children can watch their choice of cartoons and videos.

Linders is still a family run concern but the business will now be known as Linders of Chapelizod.

Irish Rugby Team Captain Brian O'Driscoll was recently presented with the keys to a new Toyota Land Cruiser. He's pictured here with Jim Cusack, deputy MD of Toyota Ireland, and marketing director Steve Tormey.
