Lithuania removes gynecological exam requirement

27 July 2002: Lithuania has removed a rule that required all women to undergo a gynecological examination to qualify for a driver's licence.

This follows a five-month study by the country's Ministry of Health, which determined that no diseases peculiar to women would impair driving.

Ministry boss Ausrine Burneikiene said the requirement 'made our country look more than strange'.

Really?
