Mazda refines Premacy for 2002

28 November 2001: Mazda has updated its Premacy range with a more powerful engine, a 130bhp 2.0-litre petrol taken from the 626. It replaces the 113bhp 1.8-litre engine in the previous-generation model.

Mazda has stiffened up the bodyshell by using more welding points that attach it to the suspension, and has adjusted damper settings to make the vehicle quieter.

Thicker glass and better window seals have also been used in an effort to make the vehicle quieter. There are also new seats and more stowage places.

There’s a redesigned grille and bumper moulding, and vertically stacked oval lights at the rear. TW
