Merc premieres E wagon

08 January 2003: DETROIT SHOW - Mercedes-Benz has released full details of the E-Class estate which was given its world premiere this week at the Detroit Motor Show

The car's features include innovations such as Active Light System and air suspension, a patented EASY-PACK system for intelligent load compartment management, an optional hydraulic drive system for tailgate and load compartment floor, and an increased by 50 litres load capacity with seats in place.

The estate version completes the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class model range, and RHD versions are scheduled for launch in June 2003. The previous E-Class estate sold 266,000 units since 1996, making it one of the best-selling cars in the estate class.
