10 February 2003: The new CLK-Class Cabriolet will be presented to the public for the first time at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
The 4-, 6- and 8-cylinder engines for the new CLK-Class Cabriolet range from 163hp to 367hp, while fuel consumption has been reduced by up to 7 per cent.

Thanks to an increase in all body dimensions (length + 71 mm) and a longer wheelbase (+ 25 mm) this two-door car offers its occupants significantly more space and freedom of movement. Headroom at the front has increased by 23 mm, elbow room in the rear by 30 mm and kneeroom for the rear seat passengers by almost 44 mm.
The soft top opens fully automatically (also by remote control), and when closed disappears completely beneath a cover in the rear within a few seconds. The boot capacity of 390 litres is a 40-litre increase over the preceding series.
There's a sensor-controlled rollover bar, which extends within fractions of a second when danger threatens, and other safety features include llarge head/thorax sidebags in the front seat backrests and belt tensioners with belt force limiters for all seats. Sidebags for the rear are also available on request for the first time.
The torsional rigidity of the bodyshell has been improved by 12 per cent compared with the preceding series. The new CLK-Class Cabriolet also achieves a drag (Cd figure) of just 0.30.
Since 1998, more than 110,000 CLKs have been registered.
