MG ZS cars to compete in Mondello

19 June 2002: Two MG ZS cars will be among the competitors competing in the round of the British Touring Car Championship this weekend at Mondello. Anthony Reid and Warren Hughes have competed in the 24 Heures Du Mans endurance race this weekend.

Hughes, who recently won at Silverstone, said Mondello is a circuit that should favour the MG and he's 'really upbeat' about racing there. "Qualifying will be especially important as it is a tight, twisty circuit. I’m going to go for my second win of the season."

Team mate Reid said they certainly have the chance of winning in Mondello, which is critical for the points as the pair reach the mid-season stage of the Championship.

The MG ZS touring car has been the only other car to break the stronghold of Vauxhall during this season.
