2 May 2002: MG Rover has launched a new 180 Sports Auto MG ZT, providing an automatic alternative to the ZT + 190 model. Using the 2.5 litre KV6 quad-cam alloy engine, the 180 Sports Auto is equipped with with the transverse-mounted 5-speed JATCO automatic gearbox.

The specification of the ZT + 180 includes ATC air conditioning, electric rear windows and aerodynamic boot lid spoiler.
