21 April 2003: The next Mitsubishi Galant has been previewed at the New York International Auto Show. The car has more power and more room, and a signigicantly more aggressiver attitude than the bland current model.

In the US, in addition to the base 160hp 2.4-litre 4-cylinder engine, there will also be a new 3.8-liter V6

The wheelbase has grown to 108.3-inches and inside dimensions expand in every direction.

The all-new Galant was designed in California, and engineered in Michigan and Japan. Like the next-generation Nissan Maxima, there is as yet no indication of whether or when it will make it to Europe.
