Two new Mitsubishis upcoming

30 January 2003: A new Mitsubishi MPV, which is expected in Ireland next year, will be unveiled to the European motoring public at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.

The new vehicle will be named the Grandis and, though no specific details have yet been g8iven, Mitsubishi say it will have a 'number of unique utilities' to help make time in the car a more enjoyable experience.

The styling carries on MMC's new design identity seen recently in its new Colt that uses the company's three-diamond logo as a central focal point.

Meanwhile, the latest version of the company's cult performance car, the Lancer Evolution VIII sports sedan, will be launched in Japan tomorrow. Features include a high-performance 2-litre intercooler-turbocharged engine, a 6-speed close-ratio gearbox and MMC's advanced all-wheel traction control system.

The Lancer Evolution VIII marks the eighth step up the evolutionary ladder in the 10 years since the series made its Japan debut in October 1992.
