Mondeo TDCi wins diesel COTY award
24 January 2003: The Ford Mondeo TDCi has won the UK Diesel Car of the Year at the Fleet Excellence Awards.
Ford also won a total of three best-in-class awards for the Ford Mondeo (Best Upper Medium Car), Ford Focus (Best Lower Medium Car) and Ford Galaxy (MPV).
The Ford Ka, Ford Fiesta, Ford Focus TDCi and Ford Mondeo estate were also highly commended, and Ford received a commendation for Eco Manufacturer of the Year.
The annual Fleet Excellence Awards are voted for by UK fleet customers who are readers of Fleet Week, Fleet Management and What Van? Fleet.
Sales of Ford diesels in Britain soared last year and fleet diesel sales were up 41 per cent on 2001.
