Opel reveals more of Astra concept

27 February 2003: More preview shots of what is generally accepted as the concept close to the next Opel Astra have been released.

The GTC Genève concept car to be revealed in Geneva will be the forerunner of a set of Opel cars which will feature advanced technical innovations, according to the company's new general manager in Ireland, John C Maher.

"These will inmclude adaptive, integrated suspension systems, which provide the highest levels of driving comfort, fun and safety," he says.

According to Martin Smith, Opel´s Director of Design, the GTC Genève is designed to demonstrate how sporty a three-door sports saloon can be. "Working with our Vehicle Concept engineers, we set out to make a very dynamic-looking car, with space for four passengers, that’s also immediately recognizable as an Opel."
