26 February 2003: Peugeot's 307 Coupe Cabriolet will make its first appearance in full production guise at the Geneva Motor Show next week. It will be available in Ireland in the autumn, with a pair of 2-litre engine options outputting 138bhp and 180bhp resepctively.
The 307 CC (the concept car shown at Paris is pictured above) can be effortlessly transformed in 25 seconds from a coupe into a cabriolet at the touch of a button, the first four-seater convertible car with an electronically operated hard top. Following the example of its 206 CC predecessor, the retractable roof folds and fits into the boot.
Customers will have a choice of trim, including red and black leather, black leather, beige leather or light grey leather. Aluminium and metal finishes on the pedal pads and the foot rest, the gear lever knob, the door sills, the instrument panel, and on the air vents are a key interior style feature.
The 807 Grand Tourisme and Hoggar concept cars will also be shown. Powered by a V6 engine developing 204bhp, the Grand Tourisme has a lowered body, sporty body-sills, chrome luggage rails, 18 alloy wheels and a honeycomb mesh grille.
The Hoggar concept car has two turbo diesel HDi engines, fitted with particle air filters and developing 360bhp.
Resembling a sand buggy, the 2-seater recreational vehicle features among its goodies an MP3 player, touch screen PC and a GPS satellite navigation system, and an aluminium and leather interior.
