Peugeot 307 wins Auto Express awards

2 April 2002: The Peugeot 307 has won the Auto Express Car of the Year Award. Votes from racing drivers, technical experts, journalists and thousands of readers of Auto Express and 13 other sister titles across Europe were all added up to find the winner – and the French hatch came top.

Only one point behind was the Mercedes SL, while third place went to the BMW 7-series, followed by Renault’s Laguna, the new Mini, VW Polo and Fiat Stilo. Director General of PSA Peugeot Citroen, Frédéric Saint-Geours, received the award from Dr Andreas Wiele, chief of the Auto Europe magazine group.
