Radar detector will pay fines

26 February 2004: A radar detection producer is offering to pay the speeding fines of UK motorists if their machine lets them down.

The Quintezz XT-7000plus plugs in to the vehicle's cigar lighter socket and constantly scans for Gatso cameras and Laser guns. It provides audible and visual alerts to avoid potential speeding tickets and points.

The system was originally developed for the Dutch market where it was made illegal. However it is still legal to buy one in the UK.
