Car registrations up

2 April 2004: Total passenger car registrations for the month of March were 23,307, up 30.22 % on the same period 2003.

And year to date statistics show passenger car registrations at 77,171, or 10.66 % up on the same period last year at 70,118).

Cyril McHugh, Chief Executive SIMI said that the sales reflects the performance of the economy, but warned that the March figures are inflated by increased car hire registrations for Easter.
